My Pledge to You
I pledge to do my best to base everything on this website on the most accurate and up-to-date information available. While it is impossible to say what will be seen as true in the future, I will attempt to identify what on this website is supported by empirical evidence, what is speculation and what is common knowledge. A Moral Dilemma
Activists in the mainstream community tend to focus their efforts on eliminating non-conforming thoughts, rather than examining the reason for different views. They often approach this by ridiculing frontiers subjects and vilifying people who study them.
One of the lessons of etheric studies is that we are part of a larger community and the actions of one person may have unexpected influence on others. What we do in this lifetime matters well beyond this current venue and the Golden Rule of “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” is sound advice.
At the same time, the Skeptic’s approach of vilifying all things paranormal has been very effective in suppressing frontier subjects, as witness the two essays, Skeptic and Pseudoscience. The dilemma is whether or not to “fight fire with fire.” There is no reason to emulate our attackers by becoming as mean-spirited, but we do need to speak candidly.
While I attempt to remain professional in my discourse, my comments here are always with consideration for the wellbeing or the paranormalist community and toward keeping this information available to the public. To accomplish that, it is sometimes necessary to “call out” those who attack our community. I expect others in our community to do the same.
There is no pretense of academia in the development of this website.
Reading it, you should understand that I speak only for myself. I am an engineer with considerable field experience, but few would mistake me as an academic. It is up to you to determine my qualifications, so please feel free to question my credential directly.
