Two Ways to Learn
For the sake of discussion, let’s say I am teaching a course titled Seeking Spiritual Maturity. My lesson plan calls for weekly instruction about what students need to know for successful seeking. As part of my preparation as a teacher, I have written discourses explaining many of the important concepts in detail. I will use those as handouts for the related sessions.
The lessons are complex, and I want my students to come to class prepared, so I assign a book to be read as a prerequisite for the class. The book includes much of what will be handed out, but in an integrated form with supporting material to facilitate independent study.
Reading the lesson handout will be the student’s second exposure to the subject. It will likely take a few more handouts and much discussion for the information to become the student’s personal knowledge.
That is the lesson plan I have put before you in the form of web page articles and a few books. If you so choose, you are the student. Many of the pages on the Etheric Studies website are in one of the books, but they are supported by material that is not on the website. In many cases, internal hyperlinks are included to make detailed study a little easier.
Realistically, I cannot assure that the website will remain available. It is always one annual payment away from deletion. As of this writing, I am a single point of failure … an 80-year-old single point of failure. With that in mind, I also consider the books a way to archive the website while adding a little value. Owning the book assures that you will not lose access to the lessons.
